1. What we do

PDFChecker is a privacy-first online tool that analyzes PDF files for structure, configured PDF/A validation output, and metadata. We process uploaded files in memory and do not permanently store original PDFs.

2. What data we collect

File metadata: filename, file size, SHA-256 hash, PDF version, and page count.

Detection results: structure status, PDF/A adapter status/raw validation summary, metadata fields such as Producer, Creator, dates, signatures, and incremental-update signals.

Technical logs: IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention, browser type, request timestamp, and error logs.

Payment data: no payment is currently accepted. If paid features are enabled later, payment data will be handled by a payment processor and we will not store card numbers.

3. What we do not collect

We do not permanently store original PDF files.

We do not extract or store the full text content inside your PDF.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers, or third-party behavioral tracking.

4. How we process your data

Uploaded PDFs are processed in server memory and discarded immediately after analysis.

Free detection results are returned to your browser and may be saved locally in your browser storage for convenience.

We use hosting infrastructure to run the service and security logs to prevent abuse. We do not sell your data.

5. Data retention

Original PDFs: discarded after analysis.

Free detection results: not intentionally stored server-side beyond the request flow.

Security logs: retained only as needed for abuse prevention, debugging, and infrastructure security.

Paid reports: not currently available; retention terms will be published before paid features launch.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, delete, object to processing, or request a copy of your data. Email contact@pdfchecker.xyz to exercise these rights.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies or local browser storage when needed for session and product functionality. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Children's privacy

PDFChecker is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child submitted personal data, contact us and we will delete it where applicable.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
